Chanel Factory 5 - Digital experience
In 2021, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic Chanel N°5 fragrance, Chanel launched Factory 5 — a limited-edition collection of 17 products reinterpreting everyday objects through the lens of the fragrance.Beyond physical pop-ups and retail activation, the initiative included the creation of a fully immersive digital platform combining experiential exploration and exclusive e-commerce. The project was deployed internationally across more than 30 markets and received the Grand Prix Stratégies du Luxe 2021.

Project Scope & Constraints
Scope covered Balmain’s global brand website, e-commerce platform and the existing virtual experiential 3D environment. Intervention focused on graphic evolution and visual alignment across these three components within their operational frameworks. Excluded any full technical redesign or redevelopment. Work followed a reskin approach, with 3D adaptations handled at agency level and e-commerce evolutions coordinated with Balmain’s dedicated e-commerce agency. Key constraints: high volume of impacted templates, need to operate within existing technical architectures, and integration of a newly introduced design system tool without disrupting ongoing business performance.
